ARCHITECTURE IN THE FUTURE IN CITIES
8 November 2017 at 16:30
Museum of Finnish Architecture

The Museum of Finnish Architecture, the Bryggman Institute and the Allan & Bo Hjelt Art Foundation is pleased to invite you to attend a lecture entitled “Architecture in the Future in Cities”. What is the role of art in exploring the possibilities of new buildings?

Can cultural spaces/museums shape the way we experience art? Can architecture add to the learning experience in schools? What will the cities of the future look like? How can architects and citizens together shape our future cities? Designing a museum or a school is an exciting architectural challenge.

In this talk the Finnish architect Eero Lundén will outline some of the architectural challenges in designing public buildings, transport hubs and visions for cities, describe his methods and working processes, and provide examples of architecture and urban design for the future within and beyond Finland.

EVENTS IN FINNISH

LET'S DEVELOP THE CITY
May 31st 2017 – Present

Let’s Develop the City is an open forum for discussions between citizens and governance, to bring together agents in urbanization with a wide variety of attendees. The project was launched in spring 2017 with the Törnävä area in Seinäjoki, Finland, as a case study. The children of Törnävä inhabitants attended a workshop where they were allowed to take part in planning the development of the area, and have their voices heard by city officials.

More events in the series to be announced soon.
