GENERAL TERMS FOR TOURING EXHIBITIONS
Agreement parties
All agreements concerning presentations of exhibitions produced by the Museum of Finnish Architecture (MFA) are made between MFA and the local organiser.
Exhibition space and design
The space must meet museum standards and be approved by MFA. For this, the local organiser delivers adequate information on the intended space, such as floor plan and section, with the available area indicated, to MFA.
The local presentation of the exhibition is designed by MFA/the original designer.
Transportation and storage
The local organiser pays the transportation from the previous venue to the local venue and organises it in collaboration with MFA. If local storage is needed before the mounting, the local organiser is in charge of this and the transportation between the storage and the exhibition venue.
The local organiser is in charge of storing empty crates during the presentation of the exhibition.
MFA or the next exhibitor is in charge of the transportation back to Finland or the next venue.
Insurance
MFA insures the exhibition during transportation, mounting, presentation and dismantling.
Mounting and dismantling
MFA sends a necessary number of supervisors for the mounting and dismantling of the exhibition and covers the costs of their flight tickets. How many supervisors are needed for how many days depends on the exhibition.
The local organiser arranges accommodation for the MFA supervisors and pays their hotel costs.
The local organiser supplies a necessary number (depending on the exhibition) of assistants to mount and dismantle the exhibition and covers all costs of their work.
Exhibition texts
MFA supplies the exhibition texts in English and produces the prints of local translations.
The local organiser is in charge of translating, editing and proofreading the texts in the local language.
Publicity
The local organiser produces and distributes the publicity materials. MFA delivers on request layouts of the invitation card and poster as well as press material to the local organiser. The local organiser delivers copies of the printed material as well as information on visitor numbers and press coverage to MFA.
The local organiser pays all costs related to the opening event.
