This major study offers a new and wide-ranging look at the entire scope of Saarinen's career. It is the first book on Saarinen to incorporate significant research and materials from the newly available archives of his office, and includes the most complete portfolio of Saarinen's projects to date. The book accompanies an international touring exhibition co-organized by the Museum of Finnish Architecture, the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York and the National Building Museum, with the support of Yale University School of Architecture. In addition to Eeva-Liisa Pelkonen, Assistant Professor, and Donald Albrecht, Curator of the exhibition, who co-edited the book, essayists also include Mark Coir, Director of Archives of Cranbrook Educational Community; Sandy Isenstadt, Assistant Professor, Yale University; Reinhold Martin, Associate Professor, Columbia University; Will Miller, Chairman and CEO of Irwin Financial Corporation in Columbus, Indiana; and Vincent Scully, Sterling Professor Emeritus, Yale University.
