PUBLICATION

The museum is an established small publisher of architecture books. Its products are generally based on research done at the museum and material available in its collections, or on topical discussion concerning architecture and town-planning. Many books are produced in connection with exhibitions. They serve professionals as well as anybody who is interested in her or his environment.

The output includes extensive, often bi- or trilingual monographs on notable Finnish architects, such as Erik Bryggman, Hilding Ekelund, Juha Leiviskä, Armas Lindgren and Eliel Saarinen. Basic studies on architects have been published in smaller format and mostly in Finnish. Special themes, usually published in two or three languages, include architects' travels, wood building and the milieu of the 1950s. Books dealing with foreign architecture and essay collections have also been published.

The museum's publications are most economically available in the museum bookshop, but they are also sold in well-stocked bookstores around the world.
