New, Old, Green – a toolbox for the builders of the future

Welcome to the NEW, OLD, GREEN section of the Museum of Finnish Architecture website, which deals with the relationship between sustainable development and architecture. The pages have been specifically designed to support architecture, design and environmental education in institutions of basic education and upper secondary education, vocational institutions and art schools, but they also serve as a good basic introduction to anyone interested in these issues.

Under ECO BOXES you can find information about the ecology of the Earth and the landscape; communities and traffic; and buildings, space and objects. You can find facts, examples and visions but also questions that challenge you to think about a sustainable future from your own perspective. The eco boxes contain numerous links you can follow to get more in-depth information. Under NOW you can find the latest themes, workshops, events, exhibitions, books and educational materials. Under ACTIVITIES you can find tips for organising architecture, design and environmental education in schools. Under ARCHIVE, we take a look back at the New, Old, Green exhibition that sparked the creation of these pages.
