Culture Kids Workshop Accessibility
The spring 2023 Culture Kids events will take place in the library of the Museum of Finnish Architecture on Mondays, when the museum is closed to other guests.
This page has practical information to you plan your visit:
Arriving to the museum
Arriving by public transport
You can get to the Architecture Museum by tram 10 or bus 24. The nearest stop is Johanneksenkirkko. It takes two minutes to walk from the stop to the museum (distance 150–200 meters). The route has cobblestone sections, tram tracks and pedestrian crossings. The sidewalk curbs are high in some places.

Arriving by car and parking
You can also get to the Museum of Finnish Architecture by car. There is no customer parking at the museum. The city of Helsinki has paid parking spaces on Kasarmikatu and Ullanlinnankatu.
There is a cobblestoned parking lot in the courtyard of the Architecture Museum, where you can park with a special permit. There is no separately marked accessible parking space in the parking area. If you need a special permit for parking, call the museum’s customer service: 045 7731 0474

Accessible entrance behind the building
Arriving with a pram is easiest through the back door, where there are no steps. The exterior door on the back yard side of the Architecture Museum is locked during the museum’s opening hours. If there is no staff at the door, press the doorbell and wait a moment. A customer service employee will open the door. This is the best accessible entrance for prams and people with physical disabilities, as it has a sloped access to the elevator.

Lobby, pram parking and lockers
The lobby and the library, which is the actual event space, are located on the 1st floor. Since the museum is closed to the public on Mondays, the prams can be stored in the lobby during the event. The coat racks are located next to the lobby and the museum shop. Lockable lockers are also available.

Library and break space
From the lobby you can reach the library, where the spring 2023 godchild workshops of the Architecture Museum will take place. During the entire event, the adjacent room with sofas and a microwave oven is at your disposal. You can also take a break in the A&O room next to the coat racks on the other side of the lobby.

Restrooms and childcare
Next to the coat racks and lockers, there are two toilets with a diaper changing table and a potty. The toilet with best accessibility is on the basement floor, and there is also a diaper changing table there. You can get to the basement floor by elevator. There are no toilets on the 2nd and 3rd floor. You can use the toilets and childcare facilities freely throughout the event. The museum’s toilets are gender neutral.
