Leena Iisakkila

Leena lisakkila (b. 1927, Finland) made a significant contribution to Finnish landscape architecture, both as a designer and as a teacher. Her role in establishing university-level landscape design education in Finland was pivotal, and she was the first academic teacher in the field.
In 2019, she was appointed Honorary Doctor of Landscape Archi¬tecture at Aalto University, lisakkila also worked for a long time as an independent designer and her career as a writer was a productive one.
In the 1970s, lisakkila worked as a landscape architect on.several suburban projects, the most important of which were Eastern Pasila in Helsinki and Matinkylä in Espoo.
